Leander Paes has once again bagged the 2016 French Open championship along with Martina Hingis, he has made the nation to rejoice again. Paes- the marathon man of India is a humble and hard working player since young, he had won the junior title at US Open and the one of the big tournament Wimbledon. Paes feels to INDIA proud moments as player who has participated in the Olympic for six times from 1992-2012. He has received several awards for his huge list of achievements and success in the field of tennis. Paes partnered with more than 100 players in the men’s doubles, the best paired was with Mahesh Bhupathi- they were a strong team which made the opponents fear.

Five time slam champion banned from playing tennis for two years.

Maria Sharapova got a banned for two years after got indulge in taking meldonium by the International Tennis Federation. It is a drug which was banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency, it is also known as mildronate. It helps in increasing the blood flow and carries more oxygen to the muscles which helps in exercising for a longer duration. She failed the doping test at the Australian Open for consuming meldonium. The ITF reports that Sharapova didn’t consume meldonium intentionally yet the rules and policies are the same for every players, so unfortunately we won’t get to see her for two years.

Nike still sponsors Maria Sharapova though being banned for two years.

The famous proverb “there is always light at the end of the tunnel” proved right for Maria Sharapova. After she was banned for two years from the word of tennis, Nike says that they would continue to sponsor for her. For enhancing her performance in the Australian open tennis tournament, it was proved that she had consumed meldonium. Initially Nike was ready to break the ties with the five time Slam champion, later it was made clear that she didn’t consume intentionally and was unaware that meldonium was added to the banned list.

French open title to India

Indian rulers of the tennis world, Sania Mirza and Leander Paes won the semi final match in Paris and cleared the path to enter the French Open. Martina Hingis and Paes were partnered and won over Andrea Hlavackova, Edouard and Vasselin to reach the finals. Sania partnered with Iavn Dodig but could not make the way towards the final.

Serena Williams- all set for the finals

Wimbledon 2016, Serena beats Elena Vesnina to reach the ninth final. Serena Williams to play against Angelique Kerber in the finals. It was a very easy match for Serena to play against Vesnina- a two time Grand Slam champion in doubles. Vesnina was having a hard time to play against Serena Williams as her serves were tough to hander by her, she just scored three points in the match. Serena lost the French and Australian Open finals, but is confident to win in the Wimbledon finals.

Canadian history cracked by Milos Raonic at Wimbledon.

Milos Raonic breaks the record of Roger Federer in the semi-finals and reaches the Wimbeldon final for the first time.Raonic is the first Canadian to survice till the last day off all major tournaments.
